Official Mass Meeting Call - 2012
OFFICIAL CALL
Mass Meeting of Republican Orange County Committee of the
Republican Party of Virginia
As Chairman of the Republican Orange County Committee, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, Douglas W. Rogers, do hereby issue this call for a Mass Meeting to be held at Lake of the Woods Community Center, 110 Sweetbriar Pky., Locust Grove, Virginia 22508. Registration will begin at 9:30 AM. The meeting will start at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday March 31, 2012 for the following purposes:
1. To elect up to 59 Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to the Seventh Congressional District Republican Convention, to be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Hilton Hotel Short Pump, 11900 West Board St. Richmond, VA. 23233 (Henrico County) beginning at 10:00 A.M. with registration from 9:00 AM. and shall end at 10:30 AM. The purposes of the District Convention are to elect a District Chairman; elect 3 members of the State Central Committee; nominate a Presidential Elector; and elect 3 Delegates and 3 Alternates to the Republican National Convention.
2. To elect up to 59 Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to the State Convention of the Republican Party, to be held on June 16, 2012 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, 403 North Third Street, Richmond City, starting at 10:00 AM. The purposes of the State Convention are to elect a State Chairman; nominate a National Committeeman and Committeewoman; nominate 2 At-Large Presidential Electors; and elect 13 Delegates and 13 Alternates to the Republican National Convention to be held beginning on August 27, 2012 at the St. Pete Times Forum – Tampa, Florida, or its alternate site, for the purpose of nominating candidates for President and Vice President of the United States.
3. To elect a Chairman, officers and members of the Republican Orange County Committee and to transact other business as may properly come before the mass meeting.
Qualifications for Participation
All legal and qualified voters of Orange County under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party, and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions, or primaries encompassing their respective election districts. Voters may be required to produce personal identification such as a valid driver’s license or voter registration card and or sign a form stating they are a registered in Orange County.
Filing Requirements
Any person wishing to file as a candidate for Chairman of the Republican Orange County Committee listed above must file a “Declaration of Candidacy” form, it must be received on or before 6:00 PM, March 16, 2012. The form is available on www.RPV.org or www.orangevagop.com. or by contacting Mr. Douglas W. Rogers at Drogers73@msn.com (540-972-8117). The form is to be sent to Mr. Douglas W. Rogers 113 Birchside Circle. Locust Grove, VA. 22508, in person or by mail or email to Drogers73@msn.com Postmarks will not be considered. If no more than one candidate files for election to any office to be voted upon at the mass meeting, that candidate will be declared elected.

Registration Fee
There will be a $5.00 voluntary registration fee to participate in this mass meeting. There is a voluntary registration fee of $35 for the State Convention and a $25 voluntary registration fee for the 7th District Convention. Voluntary fees may be paid at the mass meeting, payable to the Republican Orange County Committee.

SARWC meeting 2/22 with Pat Mullins Chairman Republican Party of Virginia
This is an excellent meeting with Pat Mullins.
Pat Mullins Will Be Guest at Susan Allen Republican women Club
A meeting of the Susan Allen Republican Women Club (SARWC) will be held on
February 22nd in the Lake of Woods Clubhouse at11:30am.
The cost of the luncheon is $20.00 and you will have a choice of either
Stuffed Flounder or Chicken Cordon Bleu. Our guest speaker is Pat Mulllins,
Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia.

Mr. Mullins has been an active participant in the Republican Party since 1972
and has served in many capacities. He is very knowledgeable in both the
national and state nominating and voting process, a subject that is of interest to
us all. We hope to see all of you at this very informative meeting.

Meet Pat Mullins — Our RPV Chairman
Pat Mullins, a Virginia resident for nearly 50 years, began his career in Virginia politics in 1972 working for the election of Bill Scott to the United
States Senate. He was an active grass-roots worker, precinct captain, and volunteer. He ran unsuccessfully as the Republican candidate for
Board of Supervisors in Fairfax County in 1979 and 1987.
He ran for Chairman of the Fairfax County Republican Committee in 1990, winning that convention that was attended by over 1,000
delegates. He served as Chairman of the Fairfax County
Republican Committee from 1990 to 1996. During that time, he was successful in
leading the Republican Party to its first Republican Majority on the Board of
Supervisors in the County history in 1991, helped elect multiple new House of
Delegate and State Senate members, helped elect George Allen to the Virginia
Governorship in 1993 by carrying Fairfax County, and helped elect Republican
Congressman Tom Davis to the 11th Congressional District seat in 1994, defeating ultra-liberal Leslie Byrne.
Pat moved to Louisa County in 1998 and joined the Republican Committee there
working as a grass-roots volunteer. Last year he was elected Chairman of the
Louisa County Republican Committee. Since becoming Chairman, Party
membership has grown by 400%. At the Don Huffman Republican Advance, the
Louisa Party was named most improved unit committee in the 7th Congressional
District. Pat works for Markel Insurance of Glen Allen, VA and specializes in equine insurance.
During his professional career, Pat has been a community activist, serving as

Pat was married to his wife Jackie for nearly 47 years before she went home to be with the Lord in June 2010. Pat’s four children-Cathy, Steve, Mike, and Debbie- all graduated from Virginia Universities, and he has 6 grandchildren who are all born and bred Virginians.
Pat was born in St. Albans, West Virginia, graduated from Columbia University
in New York City with a BA Degree. Pat also received a JD Degree from George
Washington University.
On May 30th, 2009, he was elected Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia
